About Course

The word "healthcare" refers to all the systems, services, and activities that are used to keep people healthy or make them healthier. It includes keeping people from getting sick, hurt, or having other physical or mental problems, as well as diagnosing, treating, and managing those problems. Health workers and related health areas, such as medicine, nursing, dentists, pharmacy, psychology, and other health professions, administer health care.

There are different ways to group healthcare, such as by the services they offer:

  • Primary care is the first place people who are sick go to get help. Primary care doctors provide all-around care, taking care of a wide range of health problems and setting up extra care as required.
  • Secondary care is specialised care that is referred from primary care. It includes hospital stays for serious problems and services from experts like urologists or cardiologists.
  • Tertiary care is very specialised medical care that is generally given over a long period of time and includes advanced and complicated procedures and treatments done by medical experts in specialised facilities.
  • Quaternary Care: This is an extension of secondary care that includes new medicines and treatments that aren't widely available. Its main focus is on treating rare diseases.

Healthcare systems can be handled and paid in a number of ways, such as through private insurance companies, government programmes, and people's own money. The goal of healthcare systems around the world is to give patients good care in a quick and fair way, so that everyone can get the services they need without having to worry about money.
