A pivotal year in its evolution, 2007 saw the addition of several new schools, expanding KIIT's academic umbrella to include Law, Biotechnology, Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Nursing, Mass Communication, Film and Media, Fashion, and KIIT International School. Since then, KIIT has experienced unparalleled growth. Presently, it caters to approximately 40,000 students from across India, including 2000 international students from 65 countries. The extensive alumni network, numbering over a lakh, attests to KIIT's impact, with its graduates excelling in diverse fields such as academia, corporate organisations, civil services, and entrepreneurship. The examination pattern of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Online programs is the most commonly opted examination pattern, which includes two major components: internal assessment and end-term examinations.
The internal assessment is conducted to evaluate the practical knowledge and understanding of an individual during an entire semester and the majority of it is evaluated from the assignments, which are assigned to every student at the beginning of every semester, whereas the end-term examinations are conducted to evaluate the overall theoretical understanding of a student throughout a semester. The internal assessment carries 20-30% of the total weightage of marks and the end-term examination carries 70-80%.
The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology has a dedicated placement cell for assisting students with better future aspects.
