About Indian Institute of Management Indore

Famous school IIM Indore was founded in 1996 and is known for its high-quality management education, research, and training. Overlooking a beautiful 193-acre site on the Prabandh Shikhar, Rau-Pithampur Road, close to the Pithampur Special Economic Zone and off the Agra-Bombay Highway, IIM Indore provides a calm setting for thoughtful learning.

It is IIM Indore's unique programmes, like the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), which was the first programme of its kind in India when it started in 2011. IIM Indore also has other full-time, part-time, and executive programmes that cover different areas of management education. The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), the Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM), the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), and others are some of these. Students can focus on areas like Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Systems at this school.

An school that is recognised around the world, IIM Indore is the second IIM in India to earn Triple Crown recognition, which means it is approved by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), AMBA, and EQUIS. Indian Institute of Management Indore Admission Process

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates).
  • Age Limit: There is no age limit for the PGP program.
  • Work Experience: Work experience is not mandatory for the PGP program, but it can be beneficial.

 

2. Entrance Exam

  • CAT (Common Admission Test): Candidates must appear for the CAT, which is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. The CAT score is the primary criterion for shortlisting candidates.

 

3. Application Process

  • CAT Registration: Candidates need to register for the CAT exam through the official CAT website.
  • Application to IIM Indore: While registering for the CAT, candidates should select IIM Indore as one of their preferences. After the CAT results are declared, candidates need to apply separately to IIM Indore.

 

4. Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI)

  • Shortlisting Criteria: IIM Indore uses a combination of CAT score, past academic performance, and other criteria to shortlist candidates for the next round.
  • CAT Score: A high percentile in CAT is crucial. The cutoff percentile varies each year based on the number of applicants and the difficulty level of the exam.
  • Academic Record: Marks in Class X, XII, and graduation are considered.
  • Diversity Factors: Gender and academic diversity may also be considered to ensure a balanced cohort.

 

5. Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)

  • WAT: Shortlisted candidates are required to appear for a Written Ability Test. This test assesses the candidate’s ability to think critically and communicate effectively in writing.
  • PI: Candidates who clear the WAT are then called for a Personal Interview. The interview panel usually comprises faculty members and alumni. The PI assesses the candidate’s suitability for the program based on their academic background, work experience (if any), communication skills, and overall personality.

 

6. Final Selection

  • Composite Score: The final selection is based on a composite score calculated using various parameters. These include the CAT score, WAT & PI performance, academic performance, work experience, and other diversity factors.
  • Weightage Distribution: The weightage given to each parameter may vary each year. Typically, the CAT score holds the highest weightage, followed by WAT & PI, academic performance, and work experience.

 

7. Offer of Admission

  • Admission Offer: Based on the composite score, candidates are offered admission. Selected candidates receive an offer letter from IIM Indore.
  • Acceptance and Registration: Candidates need to accept the offer and complete the necessary registration formalities to confirm their admission.

Hostel

IIM Indore consists of various in-hostel facilities like common rooms, mess and canteens etc. for students to rely upon for their basic needs.

For students opting for Hostels at IIM Indore, single-seated / twin-sharing - both types of accommodation facilities are available. The rooms are available with separate blocks / floors for men and women. The hostel blocks are spread around the canteen and interconnected, mostly in blocks of three. IIM Indore hostel fees is INR 40.5 K.
