1. Eligibility Criteria

Academic Requirements: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) or an equivalent CGPA.
Work Experience: Although fresh graduates can apply, candidates with prior work experience are often given preference.

2. Entrance Exam

CAT Score: Admission is based on the Common Admission Test (CAT) scores. Only candidates who qualify in the CAT are eligible to proceed with the application process.
Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI): After CAT scores are released, VGSoM shortlists candidates for the next stage based on their CAT percentile, academic performance, and work experience.

3. Application Process

Interested candidates must apply online through the VGSoM admission portal. The application typically requires details of academic qualifications, CAT score, work experience, and other relevant personal information.

4. Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT)

PI: Shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview conducted either virtually or in person. The interview panel assesses candidates on various parameters, including communication skills, knowledge of current affairs, and analytical abilities.
WAT: Some applicants may be required to take a Written Ability Test to assess their written communication and analytical skills.

5. Final Selection

The final selection is based on the cumulative performance in CAT, PI, WAT, academic background, and work experience. Each component is assigned a specific weightage to calculate a final score.

6. Offer of Admission

Selected candidates receive an official offer letter from VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur, with details about the joining process and orientation dates.
