The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) is a prestigious educational institution situated in Gujarat, India. The academic members are actively involved in doing research, providing consultancy services, and offering advising services in several areas of rural management. The institute has gained recognition for its extensive research in the areas of rural development, sustainable agriculture, rural finance, and social entrepreneurship.

The institution also accommodates many research centres, such as the Centre for Sustainable Livelihoods, the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Enterprises, and the Centre for Rural Infrastructure and Governance. IRMA's campus spans 60 acres in Anand, Gujarat and is furnished with cutting-edge amenities that provide a stimulating educational atmosphere. Institute of Rural Management Admission Process

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/DAP categories).
  • Final Year Students: Candidates who are in the final year of their Bachelor's degree can also apply, provided they submit their final results by a specified date.

 

2. Entrance Exam

  • CAT/XAT: Candidates must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management or the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur. These scores are used for the initial shortlisting of candidates.
  • IRMASAT (IRMA Social Awareness Test): Shortlisted candidates based on CAT/XAT scores are required to appear for the IRMA Social Awareness Test (IRMASAT). This test evaluates the candidate's awareness and sensitivity to socio-economic issues.

 

3. Group Activity and Personal Interview

  • Group Activity (GA): Candidates who clear the IRMASAT are invited to participate in a Group Activity. This stage assesses the candidates' communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Personal Interview (PI): Following the Group Activity, candidates will undergo a Personal Interview. The interview focuses on understanding the candidate's aspirations, personality, and fit with IRMA's mission.

 

4. Final Selection

The final selection is based on the composite score, which includes:

  • CAT/XAT Score: 35%
  • IRMASAT Score: 10%
  • Group Activity: 10%
  • Personal Interview: 30%
  • Academic Performance (10th, 12th, and Graduation): 5%
  • Gender Diversity and Work Experience: 10%

The final merit list is prepared based on the overall performance of the candidate in all the stages of the selection process.

 

5. Application Process

  • Candidates need to apply online through the official IRMA website.
  • The application form must be filled out with accurate details, and the necessary documents must be uploaded.
  • The application fee can be paid online, and it varies depending on the category of the candidate.
