Anna University Admission Process

1. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
Entrance Exam: Candidates must qualify for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) conducted by Anna University. Alternatively, candidates with a valid score in CAT, MAT, or XAT may also apply, but TANCET is the primary mode of selection.

2. Application Process

TANCET Registration: Interested candidates must register for TANCET on the official Anna University website. This usually involves filling out an online application form and paying the application fee.
Submission of Application: After the entrance exam results are announced, candidates need to apply specifically for MBA admissions through Anna University’s centralized counseling process.

3. Entrance Examination (TANCET)

Exam Pattern: TANCET MBA usually consists of 100 multiple-choice questions covering five sections: Business Analysis, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Data Sufficiency, and General English.
Scoring: Each correct answer carries 1 mark, and 1/3rd mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

4. Counselling Process

Rank List: Based on the TANCET score, Anna University prepares a rank list.
Counselling: Shortlisted candidates are called for a centralized counselling session where they can select their preferred college and MBA specialization based on their rank and availability of seats.
Document Verification: During counselling, candidates must present original documents for verification, including academic certificates, entrance exam scorecard, and identity proof.

5. Seat Allotment

Selection of College: After successful counselling, candidates are allotted seats in various affiliated colleges of Anna University based on their preferences and rank.
