About Indian Institute of Management Jammu

Indian Institute of Management Jammu Admission Process

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
  • Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs.

 

2. CAT Examination

  • Registration: Candidates need to register for the CAT exam online through the official CAT website.
  • Preparation: Candidates should prepare for the exam, which tests quantitative ability, verbal ability, logical reasoning, and data interpretation.
  • Exam Day: On the day of the exam, candidates need to bring their admit card and valid ID proof to the examination centre.

Above cut-offs represent the minimum percentile needed for candidates to qualify for the subsequent stages of the admission process, such as the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). 

3. Shortlisting for Personal Appearance (PA)

  • CAT Score: Based on the CAT score, candidates are shortlisted for the Personal Appearance (PA) process, which includes Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
  • Cut-off Marks: IIM Jammu sets specific CAT cut-off marks for shortlisting candidates, which vary each year based on various factors such as the number of applicants and difficulty level of the exam.

 

4. Personal Appearance (PA) Process

  • Written Ability Test (WAT): Candidates are evaluated on their written communication skills and ability to articulate their thoughts clearly and coherently.
  • Personal Interview (PI): Candidates are assessed on their academic background, work experience (if any), extracurricular activities, and overall personality.

 

5. Final Selection

Composite Score: The final selection is based on a composite score which considers various parameters, including:

  • CAT score
  • WAT score
  • PI score
  • Academic performance in 10th, 12th, and bachelor's degree
  • Work experience (if any)
  • Diversity factor (academic and gender diversity)

 

6. Offer of Admission

  • Offer Letter: Candidates who are selected receive an offer letter from IIM Jammu.
  • Acceptance: Candidates need to confirm their acceptance by paying the admission fee within the stipulated time.

 

7. Commencement of Program

  • Academic Session: The academic session for the PGP in Management typically begins in June/July.
