Indian Institute of Management Ranchi Admission Process

1. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories) from a recognized university or institution.
CAT Examination: All candidates must have a valid score in the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs.

2. Application Process

CAT Registration: Candidates must first register for the CAT exam through the official CAT website.
IIM Ranchi Application: After the CAT results are announced, candidates need to apply to IIM Ranchi separately through the IIM Ranchi admission portal.

3. Shortlisting for Personal Appearance (PA) Process

CAT Score: The initial shortlisting for the Personal Appearance (PA) process is based on the candidate’s CAT score.
Profile Score: IIM Ranchi may also consider academic performance, work experience, and other factors to create a composite score for shortlisting candidates.

4. Personal Appearance (PA) Process

Written Ability Test (WAT): Candidates are required to write an essay on a given topic to assess their writing skills and clarity of thought.

5. Final Selection

At IIM Ranchi Hostels, the Hostel Accomodation is made available at the Residential Blocks of Khelgaon, a place located in the outskirts of Ranchi.

IIM Ranchi has an in-housing facility of three bedroom as well as four bedroom shared flats based on individual requirements. The flats are well furnished with all sorts of luxuries within them.
Each hostel block at IIM Ranchi Hostels consists of a mess and a canteen which work consistently for almost 20 hours a day and provide healthy meals to students and faculty residing there.
A medical dispensary has been maintained within IIM Ranchi Hostel premises for 24*7 medical concerns that may arise.
Students have common rooms for making informal discussions and meetings, get-togethers and parties, rooms for music, fitness activities or to perform any other means of recreation. Each floor of the block is also installed with a common announcement system.
Each flat consisting of three or four bedrooms has a common room and a kitchen. The majority of rooms in the flats have single occupancy and are installed with intercom, voice and data ports for telephone, campus LAN and the Internet.
A dedicated housekeeping staff is also deployed to ensure timely work management in student's day-to-day lives like laundry and ironing of clothes, cleaning etc.
