The Dayalbagh Educational Institute is situated in the peaceful surroundings of Dayalbagh, a self-contained colony known for its tranquil environment and inclusive establishments. The Distance Education programme of DEI was initiated in 2004 with the goal of extending the advantages of its high-quality, innovative, and value-based education to various segments of society. The primary focus is on reaching out to weaker sections, women, and individuals in remote, backward, and tribal areas. The program is designed to empower and contribute to the economic development of these communities. It offers a range of employment-oriented vocational programs with very nominal fees, ensuring accessibility to education for a diverse audience.
Vision
The Dayalbagh Educational Institute has embarked on a visionary initiative known as VISION 2031, accompanied by a comprehensive and progressive Strategic Plan spanning from 2012 to 2031. The primary objective of this initiative is to position the institute as a top teaching-cum-research institution, fostering an exemplary system of education. The Strategic Plan aims to instil Total Quality Management across all university activities, encompassing undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, infrastructure, information and communication technology, and campus development.
Aligned with the institute's distinctive approach of providing innovative, comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and value-based education, promoting academic excellence and holistic development, the Strategic Plan serves as a roadmap. It envisions creating an environment that nurtures well-rounded students, prepared to tackle challenges and emerge as leaders equipped with top-quality academics, practical work experience, and a strong value system.
This action-oriented Strategic Plan operates in four phases, each spanning five years, with well-defined targets for each phase. The institute is committed to meeting this challenge and expresses confidence in achieving success through the collective effort of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and all other well-wishers.

The Institute works on a continuous evalution system. The students are required to regulary chekc the official website for any fresh updates. They believe that a single exam cannot do justice to correctly evaluate the fate of students. Hence they work on the concept of giving 75% of the weightage to continous evaluation and the rest 25% is assigned to other external semester examinations.
In theory courses, the evaluation is done thorugh assignments, module end-semester examinations, and group discussions, while for prcatical courses it is done thorug practical tests, viva-voice, semester-end examinations. The University follows a credit-base system of evaluation. Also, to get more information about the examination pattern, students can refer to the the previous year's examination papers.
Students get placement assistance for all the students willing to land a job after the course completionn. The placement cell structure consists of a Central Coorinator, Training and Placement Officer(TPO). The institute conducts job fairs and off-campus camps, and after studying the marketing practices and related potential, they sign MoUs with many companies, whicg immensely helps the students during the placement drive process.
