In our commitment to providing accessible and quality higher education at an affordable cost, GITAM proudly introduces the Centre for Distance Learning. Recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi, since the academic year 2009-10, our programs in the distance mode adhere to the standards set forth by the DEC.
It is important to note that degrees and diplomas awarded through distance education at GITAM, recognized by the DEC, hold eligibility for seeking Government employment. This recognition was granted under an act of Parliament in 1995, as stipulated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

To take admission to GITAM Centre for Distance Learning, students are required to follow the following steps:
The GITAM distance education follows a pattern of internal assessment and end-term examination, where internal assessment carries 30 marks and end-term examination is 70 marks. Internal assessments are evaluated on the combined evaluation of assignments and practicals.
GITAM CDL follows a grading system, where grades and the corresponding grade points are as given in the tablo below:
