Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences was founded with the vision to raise professionals and leaders of high academic calibre and unblemished character, motivated and committed to serving humanity. Established in 1986 as an Engineering College, it gained autonomous status in 1999 and was declared a Deemed-to-be University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2004, recognizing its academic excellence. Accredited by NAAC, the institution offers a variety of Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral Degree programs in Engineering, Biotechnology, Food processing, and Agricultural Sciences. The university has grown rapidly from its humble beginnings to include 8,491 students and 452 faculty across 18 academic departments.
In its three decades of service to higher education, Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences has made significant progress in teaching, learning, research, consultancy, innovation, and technology transfer, as well as community service and value education. Aligned with the vision of its founders, the institution is actively involved in finding solutions to human problems in the areas of Water, Food, Healthcare, and Energy through scientific and technological interventions.
