Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology, and Research (VFSTR) is in Vadlamudi, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was founded in 1997 and became a recognised university in 2008. The school used to be called Vignan's Engineering College, but now it has over 10,000 students and offers bachelor, graduate, and doctoral programmes. The school is spread out over 42 acres in the suburbs, just 15 km from Guntur City and 11 km from Tenali City. This makes it easy to get to from most places nearby.
VFSTR is known for its dedication to providing high-quality education. Every three years, the curriculum is reviewed and updated to keep up with changes in the business. With an outcome-based approach to teaching and learning, the university gets more than 90% of students to pass and 75–80% of those to get jobs. The school is known for its research. It has published about 2700 papers with a SCOPUS h-index of 32, and it has gotten funding for a number of projects. VFSTR puts a lot of stress on being open to everyone. Each year, they give awards worth Rs.17 Crores to students who have done well in school and who come from poorer backgrounds. It has a strong system of coaching and counselling to help students deal with physical, social, and mental problems. It has been ranked around 100 by NIRF for the past five years and is recognised by DSIR as a Research Centre.
Competitive applicants must meet certain requirements and, for some programmes, do well on entrance exams like GATE, CMAT, CAT, MAT, or JEE in order to get into VFSTR. The university has many classes in many fields, such as Engineering, Management, Science, and Law, so it can meet the needs of a wide group of students.
